What an audit actually changes.
We ran the audit on one of our own properties, fixed what it found, and ran it again. Same site, same method, same day. These are the real numbers — including the ones that did not move.
The finding that mattered most was not a score
The first audit could only reach one page. The site had thirteen more, and nothing linked to them — no visitor and no search engine could get there. The site did not grow between these two runs. It became reachable.

Scores are calculated the same way every time, so the two runs are directly comparable. The second audit covered fourteen pages rather than one, so it also had more places to find problems.

What we fixed
- Linked the thirteen orphaned pages
- One canonical host — two copies of the site became one
- Stylesheet was loading cross-origin and failing; made assets host-agnostic
- HSTS, Content-Security-Policy, Permissions-Policy
- Structured data, canonical tags, Open Graph, robots.txt, llms.txt
- Cache lifetimes and a downloadable backup file that should never have been public
What we did not
- Performance is still D. Image weight and render-blocking CSS are real work, not configuration.
- Accessibility did not move. The contrast failure is genuinely in the stylesheet.
- Seventeen findings remain, including four usability judgements worth arguing about rather than fixing on sight.
